The LA Galaxy are almost certainly out of the MLS Cup playoffs for a second consecutive year, the front office and technical staff needs a shake up and the fan base is fed up.
In the midst of considerable upheaval however, history was made Saturday night at an electric BMO Field. Just before the halftime whistle and with LA already hopelessly out of the match down 3-0 vs. Toronto FC the Swedish target striker accepted a floating over the top ball from Jonathan dos Santos and executed what can only be described as a reverse spinning roundhouse kick to poke the ball with the outside of his right foot past a stunned Alex Bono.
Ibra obviously was in no mood to celebrate but the BMO Field crowd gave Zlatan a rousing reception for his remarkable achievement. Ibrahimovic is just the third player in the modern game to bag 500 career goals, joining fellow soccer gods Leonel Mesi and Cristiano Ronaldo.
Cristiano Ronaldo.
