Officially there’s still no real news on the Zlatan saga, with the exception of Sigi’s classic non-denial and Zlatan’s agent hinting at a MLS move. Behind the scenes, talks are ongoing as the Galaxy organization continues to negotiate with Ibrahimovic’s representatives to bring the Swedish giant to Los Angeles.
Following Mexico’s victory over Bosnia-Herzegovina in San Antonio, ESPN’s Tom Marshall spoke with Giovani dos Santos who shared his opinion on the prospect of playing with Ibra.
”I don’t know if it is going to happen but he’s a legend, one of the best strikers in history of soccer,” said Dos Santos after Mexico’s 1-0 victory against Bosnia & Herzegovina.
”So if he comes he is very welcome and for sure everyone would be very happy to have him in the team.”
If Ibrahimovic does sign for LA Galaxy, he’d likely form a partnership in attack with the Mexican, something Dos Santos would relish.
”It would be like a dream come true,” said Dos Santos. “I’ve been able to play with some of the best strikers in the world.
”I played with Robbie Keane, so to bring a total player like Zlatan would be huge for our attack.”
It should be noted, the last player Dos Santos openly expressed a desire to play with in Los Angeles was his brother Jonathan. Is there something to Gio’s enthusiasm, or are these just words?
Sooner or later we’ll have the answer.
