MLS Draft 2018: How to watch

What will Sigi Schmid and company do with the No. 2 overall pick?

MLS: Combine Jasen Vinlove-USA TODAY Sports

The 2018 MLS SuperDraft is almost here. Tomorrow at the Philadelphia Convention Center (8 a.m. PST, live on MLSsoccer.com) GMs from around the league will gather and attempt to plot their way to greatness over the chants of rowdy supporters.

With the annual selection of America’s top college talent comes a sense of renewed enthusiasm for the blue white and gold, and for good reason. The Galaxy have the No. 2 pick, in addition to the 40th, 48th, 90th overall selections. And the last time LA had an exciting draft, Bruce wound up with Omar Gonzalez and A.J. DeLaGarza.

Ultimately LA has several options: The Galaxy could simply use their top pick to bolster the squad. (LAGConfidential selected forward Mason Toye in the SBNation mock draft while Stanford center back Tomas Hilliard-Arce is another name being thrown around)

Or Sigi Schmid and company can shop the pick. Kevin Baxter at the LA Times just published new details about a possible trade scenario involving Gyasi Zardes:

One proposed deal for Kamara has the Galaxy sending forward Gyasi Zardes to the Crew along with allocation money and the Galaxy’s No. 2 overall pick in Friday’s MLS SuperDraft. The Galaxy would prefer a deal that includes only Zardes and allocation money, the source said. Winger Ema Boateng has also been discussed as part of a potential trade.
