It’s about time. To quote the legendary Rodney Dangerfield, the Galaxy finally got some respect.
After the Galaxy stylishly demolished the Earthquakes over Memorial Day Weekend to give LA three straight wins on the road, the Power Rankings politburo responded in empathic fashion, moving the Galaxy up nine spots to 7th place in the rankings.

The stars are shining again at the Galaxy! LA embraced their heel-turn big-time with a win in San Jose, and fueled by that – as well as an in-form Gio dos Santos – they’re looking dangerous again.
It’s obvious by now that Curt Onalfo deserves some credit for LA’s dramatic turnaround. Yes, the Jermaine Jones injury has made life less complicated for the head coach, but ever since Onalfo benched Van Damme, this has been a different Galaxy team. Romain Alessandrini and the red-hot Giovani dos Santos are a deadly tandem, and LA are winning on the road again. Even Bruce struggled to get the most out of Gio and win away games.
