Well, that was embarrassing.
A disjointed LA Galaxy team wilted in the heat as Clint Dempsey, Nicolás Lodiero and company were rampant, cruising to a dominant 3-0 victory Sunday afternoon at the StubHub Center.

The Galaxy started off brightly, but soon the Sounders were in control, completely bossing the midfield. Clint Dempsey and Nicolás Lodiero were feasting off the play of bruising center forward Will Bruin while a strong front press left LA with little possession.
Inevitably, Seattle went ahead when Lodiero got to the touch line and delicately chipped a soft cross that Clint Dempsey headed home from the back post.
The Galaxy’s task become that much more difficult when an Ashley Cole own goal doubled the Sounders’ lead. Strangely, Emmanuel Boateng made way for Baggio Husidic as LA were desperate to stop the bleeding.
The move helped somewhat, but when Jordan Morris easily found the time and space to finish past Brian Rowe before halftime, the game was already over.
