After earning their first home win of the season, the LA Galaxy hit the road to take on Orlando City SC.
Such is the way of things in Major League Soccer, just days after getting an important win over the Montreal Impact, the LA Galaxy are rewarded by traveling nearly the length of the whole country to take on a tough Orland City side.
Three points are three points, but Curt Onalfo has reason to be happy with the Galaxy’s overall performance against the Montreal Impact last week. If you are one to trust Onalfo’s process, it was refreshing to see the Galaxy’s wide players starting to hit form. Emmanuel Boateng remains a player just begging to have a breakout season, while Romain Alessandrini is starting to feel more at home with every game.
This is important because against Orlando City, the Galaxy will be taking on the third best defense in all of Major League Soccer. Jason Kreis’s side is currently third in the Eastern Conference with nine points from four matches and have received just three goals all season. Given that, the Galaxy will need a masterclass from their wingers again if they are to have any chance of escaping the “Sunshine State” with all three points.
Obviously, the Galaxy face a tall order against Orlando. In fact, the Galaxy have not been able to beat Orlando since the team joined Major League Soccer in 2015.
That said, as the saying goes, there is always a first time.
