LA Galaxy vs La Maquina, 2016 U.S. Open Cup: Match Preview

Jayne Kamin-Oncea-USA TODAY Sports

Had enough of the Copa America Centenario? After almost two weeks off, the LA Galaxy return to action on Tuesday as they take on UPSL side La Maquina in the U.S. Open Cup.

A Santa Ana-based amateur club, La Maquina are participating in their very first U.S. Open Cup and arrive this match on the back of beating local rivals L.A. Wolves in the third round.

With that in perspective, it will probably take an earth shattering performance from La Maquina to knock out the Galaxy. Of course, stranger things have happened in soccer, and Leicester City can certainly vouch for that.

But the Galaxy will likely not mind the absences of Gyasi Zardes and Robbie Keane, who are both missing on international duty, as they go in search of a ticket to the fifth round.

LAST MEETING

First meeting.

LIKELY LINE-UPS

¯\_(ツ)_/¯...... expect Bruce Arena to start a second-string side, though.
