Right now the LA Galaxy are trying to cash in on their new position in the Allocation Ranking and the rumored target is Sacha Kljestan. Part of that deal would involve paying down a loan deal for the rest of the year, and then needing a DP spot if they wished to keep him long term. Taylor Twellman just added some detail to that story, as the man responsible for breaking several MLS stories has some insight on next year's roster rules.
I would be shocked if the DP allotment doesn't raise to 4 and there isn't a significant (45-50%) raise in the cap in @MLS by Jan. 2015— Taylor Twellman (@TaylorTwellman) July 30, 2014
With two new groups joining the league and an expansion draft on the horizon, MLS roster are set for the type of shakeup they haven't seen since Portland and Montreal entered the league. Could this be the catalyst for changes to the restraints put on MLS teams?
Does this possibility change your opinion of Sacha Kljestan joining the team? Does it put LA back in the running for Jermaine Jones, if they can promise him DP status after six months at maybe half a million dollars?
