Robbie Keane led Match Impact Rating in 1-0 win vs. Whitecaps

Robbie Keane had the lone goal in the LA Galaxy's 1-0 victory over the Vancouver Whitecaps on Saturday. Keane also led the Galaxy in Match Impact Rating in a very defensive based win.

Sometimes all it takes is one moment of brilliance to win a match. The LA Galaxy got that from Stefan Ishizaki and Robbie Keane on Saturday in their 1-0 victory over the Vancouver Whitecaps at StubHub Center.

Keane led the Galaxy in Match Impact Rating and Ishi was a close second. Keane attempted five of the Galaxy's total 13 shots, with two on frame and one finding the back of the net. Keane also drew one foul and committed one to finish with a MIR of 45.75 in 90 minutes. Ishizaki went 79 minutes, picking up his assist on the beautiful cross which you can see below. Foreign Wide Midfielder also committed two fouls and drew one in his time on the pitch for a MIR of 45.

Offensively there is virtually nothing else to speak of in terms of Match Impact Rating, which has MIR in agreement with Josie's assessment of the defensive nature of the win. Baggio Husidic and A.J. DeLaGarza were the only other two players to generate a MIR above a 1.0.

They both finished with a 19.75 for drawing two fouls and committing one foul in 90 minutes. Husidic also took one shot off target. Juninho, as you can see in the goal highlight, started things on the break with a long pass to Ishizaki and, I feel, was robbed of the second assist on the play.
