The LA Galaxy, in this case coached by Curt Onalfo and Pat Noonan, have released their lineup for tonight's match with the Carolina Railhawks. Bruce Arena said he didn't intend not traveling with the team an insult, but rather that since he's sending a split squad the reserves deserved a coach they're more familiar with.
Last year the whole squad traveled down to Carolina, with a mixed group starting. This year's squad is similar to those used in reserve matches. The one new addition is Robbie Rogers, who had some controversy about his availability but will be in the 18 tonight.
There are some surprises in the lineup, such as Michael Stephens wearing the captain's armband after starting on Sunday. He's joined by Colin Clark at the wide midfielder positions, with Hector Jimenez taking a fullback spot. Jose Villarreal also saw time Sunday, and starts up top with Charlie Rugg.
LA Galaxy subs: Perk, Opare, Gaul, Rogers, Hoffman, Zardes
Gyasi Zardes, who started on Sunday is available off the bench. Robbie Rogers, Chandler Hoffman, and Gyasi Zardes could be used as attacking subs if things are still close in the second half.
The match broadcast begins at 4:00 pm on Time Warner Cable Sportsnet Deportes.
