The interesting thing about the match previews for yesterday's LA Galaxy vs. Colorado Rapids tilt, was that the Colorado journalists seemed just as excited about the Galaxy arrival as the LA journalists. David Beckham, who to this point had never made the trip to Colorado (one instance resulting in a fine last year when he wasn't listed on the injury report), was going to be there and Colorado's peanut gallery seemed almost giddy.
Look at these Denver based recaps. Both have Beckham as the first word in their title, even though Beckham didn't factor in on the winning goal, or the save to keep the game for the Galaxy. Beckham sent the ball in to Mike Magee on the first goal which was ruled an own goal.

Soccer can be such a cruel game sometimes. The Colorado Rapids played perhaps their best game of the season Saturday night against the star-studded Los Angeles Galaxy.
Beckham ignites Galaxy vs. Rapids - Boulder Daily Camera
COMMERCE CITY -- Heading to the locker room after pregame warm-ups Saturday night, David Beckham jogged up to two unsuspecting 12-year-old Rapids "ball kids" and gave them thrills they wont soon forget, high-fiving them both.
Beckham thrills and ignites! Sounds more like selling an action movie or a circus that what actually happened in the match. Hopefully we can count on the LA papers (which is really just the AP article since no one travelled with the team) to set the record straight.
GALAXY 2, COLORADO 1: Saunders preserves first road win for L.A. - The Daily Breeze
Landon Donovan scored in the 39th minute and goalkeeper Josh Saunders stopped a penalty kick in added time as the Galaxy earned their first road win of the season, a 2-1 victory over the Colorado Rapids on Saturday night.
Saunders preserves, so say we all.
