MLS held the 2012 Supplemental Draft this morning via conference call, and the LA Galaxy selected five players over the four rounds. With their first round pick they selected Bryan Gual, a forward from Bradley. With their second pick, the Galaxy selected Rafael Garcia, a midfielder from Cal State Northridge. Both players were the only seniors to come out from their respective universities.
The third round pick was used on Yuri Gorentzviag, a Brazilian forward coming out of the Corinthians system. In the fourth round the Galaxy selected Steven Posa, a midfielder from San Diego with the pick they received in the trade to Chivas giving up Juan Pablo Angel. The team used their final pick on Justin Davies, a defender from San Diego St. and Charlie Davies' little brother. Neither Davies nor Posa was invited to the MLS Combine.
In the next few days we'll find out how many of these players makes one of the rosters, with camp set to start any time now. That is the next step in the process, shoring a roster together before camp starts. When camp does start, the Galaxy will be without their players on loan or on national team duty.
