7 LA Galaxy players called up for September international window

Fortunately the club is on a bye!

MLS: Vancouver Whitecaps FC at LA Galaxy Jayne Kamin-Oncea-USA TODAY Sports

A whopping seven LA Galaxy players — all for different countries — have been called up for the international window that began this week.

Jonathan dos Santos (Mexico) and Sebastian Lletget (USA) get recalls to their national teams, where they are stalwarts. Additionally, in Concacaf Carlos Harvey (Panama), Oniel Fisher (Jamaica) and Danny Acosta (Honduras) have gotten called up. Acosta could make his debut for Honduras in this window — the defender has been called up in the past but has yet to actually play for the Central American country where he was born.

In addition, two more players have been called up in other federations — Niko Hämäläinen (Finland) and Rayan Raveloson (Madagascar).

This is a packed international window, with many confederations opting to cram in three games instead of the usual two, as many countries try to catch up in World Cup qualifying. The good news is the Galaxy are on a bye and these players could all be eligible for selection when LA is back in action on Sept. 11.

Here’s the schedule for Galaxy-involved players:

Sept. 1

Finland (Hämäläinen) vs. Wales

Sept. 2

Madagascar (Raveloson) vs. Benin

Canada vs. Honduras (Acosta)

Panama (Harvey) vs. Costa Rica

Mexico (Dos Santos) vs. Jamaica (Fisher)

USA (Lletget) vs. El Salvador

Sept. 4

Finland (Hämäläinen) vs. Kazakhstan

Sept. 5

El Salvador vs. Honduras (Acosta)

Jamaica (Fisher) vs. Panama (Harvey)

Costa Rica vs. Mexico (Dos Santos)

USA (Lletget) vs. Canada

Sept. 7

France vs. Finland (Hämäläinen)

Tanzania vs. Madagascar (Raveloson)

Sept. 8

Costa Rica vs. Jamaica (Fisher)

Honduras (Acosta) vs. USA (Lletget)

Mexico (Dos Santos) vs. Panama (Harvey)

Good luck to all the players on international duty, and please come back healthy!
