4 LA Galaxy players on Nations League Finals provisional rosters

How many will be on the plane for the competition?

Concacaf released the provisional rosters for the four semifinalists of the inaugural edition of the Nations League Finals on Monday, and four LA Galaxy players were included on those rosters.

Two players — midfielders Jonathan dos Santos and Efrain Alvarez — were called up by Mexico, while midfielder Sebastian Lletget was on the United States’ provisional roster. Defender Giancarlo Gonzalez, meanwhile, was listed on Costa Rica’s provisional roster. I expect Lletget and dos Santos to absolutely be on the plane for their teams, while the other two are possibly toss-ups. Alvarez would be cap-tied to Mexico if he plays in this tournament, so they may want to get him in to wrap up his international status, while Gonzalez has not yet played for the Galaxy this season and I’m not sure if he would be an automatic selection for Costa Rica.

The semifinals and final of the Concacaf Nations League will take place June 3-6 in Denver. The U.S. will play Honduras and Mexico will face Costa Rica in the semifinal round.

We’ll see what happens, but I think it’s safe to say that health permitting and the world not shutting down again and so forth, at least two and up to four Galaxy players will be on international duty next month for Nations League. We’ll keep you posted.
