The USL Championship revealed the 2020 All-League Teams on Wednesday, and there was LA Galaxy II representation on the top players of the season, courtesy of forward Augustine Williams, named to the All-League First Team.
The 23-year-old scored 13 goals, leading Los Dos this season, and ended up being the second-leading scorer in the league overall for the season, while also chipping in with two assists. One of the few “name” players on Junior Gonzalez’s squad, Williams came on strong as the shortened season wore on, with Galaxy II reaching the playoffs from what was an incredibly tough Group B, before they fell in the playoffs to Reno 1868 FC on the road.
Williams was also USL Championship Player of the Month for September/October, and while he was the headliner, this is an award of sorts both for him and the squad overall, for playing so well throughout the season. He’s the first Galaxy II player to make the All-League Team since Jack McBean in 2016, and the fifth all-time from the club.
A MASSIVE congrats to @augiwilliams

This honor was voted on by club management and a media panel from around the league (full disclosure: I am part of the panel and voted in the end-of-season awards this year), so the people who follow the league closest think Williams deserved recognition and I have to say, I agree. Congrats to Augustine on the honor!
