Not too long ago the LA Galaxy missing the MLS Cup playoffs for a second consecutive year appeared to be inevitable, and now it appears Dom Kinnear’s side might just manage to squeeze into the postseason.

Standing pat in this week’s Power Rankings after earning a hard-fought point at Children’s Mercy Park, LA are riding high at the moment. Should Zlatan suit up for this weekend’s pivotal match on Minnesota United’s artificial surface (Probably) and the Galaxy manage to take all three points (Looking more likely than not), LA head into the final week of the season as the favorites to snatch the No. 6 playoff spot regardless of what happens on the Oct. 18th meeting between Real Salt Lake and the New England Revolution.

The Galaxy couldn’t manage a win in Kansas City, a place they’ve had a terrible record, but their draw and RSL’s loss means their playoff hopes remain alive. Two games to go, one point back, can they seal the deal?
