Galaxy II to host U.S. Open Cup match

On May 20, Los Dos will host one of three possible opponents in a U.S. Open Cup match at the StubHub Center Track & Field Stadium.

LA Galaxy II

Los Dos will host a Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup match on May 20 at 7:30 PM PT.

The team will be hosting the winner of a first-round match up between PDL side Ventura County Fusion and either Cal FC (USASA) or San Francisco City FC (US Club Soccer). The latter two teams will face off in a play-in match on April 25, with the winner facing Ventura County on May 13. A strong home field advantage could be the difference maker for Los Dos as they face the possibility of squaring off against a Ventura County side that has won at least one match in each of the last four U.S. Open Cups.

Last season, Los Dos was able to progress to the third round of the tournament before bowing out to PSG Elite. With a year of experience under their belt and a wealth of talent at their disposal, Galaxy II will be looking to progress further and join a list of USL clubs to have made a real run at the prestigious championship. Los Dos' parent club, LA Galaxy, has won the Cup twice, in 2001 and 2005.

The 2015 edition of the 102 year-old tournament will feature 91 clubs, which is the largest field of clubs in the modern era. This year also marks the fourth straight year that participation records have been broken.

TIckets to this match at the StubHub Center Track & Field Stadium will be on sale for $10, and a full schedule of the first two rounds of the tournament can be found here.
