The 2015 MLS SuperDraft kicked off at 9:30 this morning from the Philadelphia Convention Center.

Before the draft started, the league honored Landon Donovan with the introduction of the Landon Donovan Most Valuable Player award, created by Tiffany.

No explanation required.

With the 21st pick in the draft, the Galaxy selected forward Ignacio Magnato from Iona College in New York.

Ignacio led the Metro Atlantic Athlete Conference with 11 goals for Iona in 2014, while also adding 5 assists, earning MAAC Offensie Player of the Year and NSCAA All-Northeast Region first team honors.

As one of the announcers described on the broadcast, the Getafe youth product "tore up the Combine", creating havoc in the final third and scoring an assist off a corner kick. Scouted by the MLS website as a top 5 midfielder in the draft, Magnato is the kind of raw talent that could thrive for Los Dos.

Stay tuned, Galaxy fans.
