The LA Galaxy ended their eight match undefeated streak as Sporting Kansas City prevailed 2-1 at Sporting Park Saturday. With three points gained on the week, the Galaxy are currently in third place in the West with 27 points. This was only the club's fourth loss of the season, with seven in the win column.

Robbie Keane notched his tenth goal of the season, in sixteen games. Benny Feilhaber notched the opening goal for Kansas City in the 10th minute, the earliest the Galaxy have been scored on this year. It was the first direct free kick goal allowed by the club this season and only the second free kick goal of either type.

Bradford Jamieson IV made his MLS debut in the 75th and contributed with an assist in the 79th.

With Dan Gargan suspended and Robbie Rogers unavailable, Tommy Meyer had to slide out of position to play left back. A.J. DeLaGarza took over right back duties, and Kofi Opare started centrally with Leonardo. This was Arena's thirteenth different lineup in the Galaxy's 17th match of the year.

At seventeen matches the Galaxy have finally officially reached the midpoint of their season. While they are yet to win a match in which they trailed, overall they are playing tighter than they did last season though some offensive lethargy still remains.
