The LA Galaxy U-18s resumed 2013-2014 U.S. Soccer Development Academy play with a 5-2 victory over Pateadores Academy in a match played at Vanguard University on Sunday. The win improved the Galaxy U-18s record to 8-3-2 on the season.
The highest scoring team in the West Conference of the USSDA jumped on Pateadores from the opening whistle with two goals in the first seven minutes of the match. Bradford Jamieson, fresh off signing a homegrown player contract with the Galaxy, scored his third goal of the season just five minutes in, converting on a one v. one opportunity. Jaime Villarreal assisted on Christian Chavez' goal two minutes later. Ryo Fujii notched his first goal of the season later in the first half on a diving header. Villarreal picked up the assist on Fujii's goal.
After the first half ended 3-0, Ante Razov's team, conceded a goal before Villarreal scored his fifth of the season in the 65th minute and added a second tally just minutes later. The rout was a great showing from a side that had been off since a 3-1 loss to the Chicago Fire U-18s on Dec. 14.
The U-18s will be in action again at home on Jan. 25 against San Juan Soccer Club.
