Raul Mendiola has been a rumored signing for LA since last summer, and is known to be wanted by several foreign clubs. He's a five star rated prospect by Top Drawer Soccer, and has experience at the youth levels of the US national team. Jamieson is a four star rated prospect coming in at no. 11 on the IMG Academy 150 and the third best SoCal prospect.
Looking at a full LA Galaxy depth chart, it's clear that LA's roster is nearing full along with the rumored signing of a foreign wide midfielder and today's draft pick. There are also rumors out there about a second Galaxy squad so feel free to read between the lines. There is also some roster space shedding to do with Carlo Cudicini and Michael Stephens isn't counted on that 28 player list at mlssoccer.com.
Note that the mlssoccer article doesn't list Juninho or Robbie Keane as international players. It's assumed that both have their green cards. Cudicini is taking up one of five currently occupied international spots. Samuel is not listed as occupying an international spot. It's a crazy world.
