Last year's FIFA 12 advertising campaign featured soccer superstars taking on stars of other sports, such as a memorable spot where Landon Donovan clowned on Tim Lincecum while they played a game of FIFA. This year the tagline is Join The Club. FIFA 13's first television spot centers around a practical recreation of the FIFA experience, complete with an extended Harry Redknapp cameo (someone really needs to give that man a job).
The whole idea is that playing FIFA connects you with this worldwide community and immerses you in the football world in a way that most people will never experience. A memorable moment in the ad comes when a small boy asks for a puppy as a signing bonus.
Talking to folk, the big change from last year's FIFA to this year's is that players in career mode can now join national teams as well as club teams. Gotta say, it's a pretty cool feature that so long as you are male you can create yourself and have the full experience of a soccer career. Well, without reserve squads and U-23 teams and all the trappings real players have to go through. You may have to suffer a few injuries though.
