LA Galaxy’s Chicharito, Julian Araujo named to 2021 MLS All-Star Team

Well-deserved honor for the duo.

MLS announced the All-Star selections on Wednesday, and two LA Galaxy players have been included in the MLS All-Star Team: forward Chicharito and defender Julian Araujo.

The MLS All-Star Team will take on a team of Liga MX All-Stars in the 2021 MLS All-Star Game at Banc of California Stadium in Los Angeles on Aug. 25.

Chicharito was voted into the team from the fan and media vote, after notching 10 goals and an assist in 10 games this season. The Designated Player has come good in his second season with the Galaxy, helping the team shake off their previous malaise and become a comfortable playoff team this season, with aspirations to do even more. As one of MLS’s biggest stars, who is also performing this season, this selection was certainly obvious.

Araujo was named to the All-Star Team as a selection of MLS All-Stars head coach Bob Bradley. The teenager is enjoying a breakout year as the Galaxy’s starting right back, and his two-way game is drawing attention around the league and beyond. Fresh off a dominant performance that included two assists in LA’s biggest win of the season, Araujo looks a worthy selection.

Both players are on their first career MLS All-Star Teams, so congrats to both of them on the honor, and please return back from the “trip” healthy.
