Full time: Timbers 2, Galaxy 3. LA hold on and now they have a winning streak. Thanks for following along, here’s the full recap.

92nd minute: Goal Timbers. Diego Valeri scores off the bench, and the final moments are going to be very tight.

71st minute: GOOOOOOOOOL Galaxy! Joe Corona with a timely strike from distance to give LA their two-goal lead once again. More comfortable for the visitors as we hit the final stretch of the game.

67th minute: Goal Timbers. Felipe Mora gets Portland back into the game, as LA need to buckle down on defense now to see this out.

50th minute: GOOOOOOOOOL Galaxy! Cristian Pavon plays hero ball and makes a goal out of very little. Some room now for LA, good play.

15th minute: GOOOOOOOOOOL Galaxy! Efrain Alvarez scores his first of the season off a good feed from Sebastian Lletget. Good start for the G’s.

Lineups:

LA start Efrain Alvarez, while Julian Araujo goes to his natural right back spot, and Rolf Feltscher makes way.

Portland are trying a lot of squad rotation tonight, with their big guns on the bench if needed.

The LA Galaxy will look to win their third game on the trot, as they head to Portland to face the Portland Timbers Wednesday evening.

The teams played in the opening game of the MLS is Back Tournament group stage, with Portland coming away 2-1 winners. They went on to win the tournament, while the Galaxy crashed out without making the knockout stage. But LA have won their first two games back to action after the local restart, while the Timbers have not won their first two games, losing to the Sounders and then drawing 4-4 with Real Salt Lake at the weekend.

So will LA be able to continue their hot re-restart, or will the Timbers dampen the mood? I think if the Galaxy can post a third straight win here, then we can really start to think they’re for real this season, with a full-strength Jonathan dos Santos and the reinforcements of Chicharito and Yony Gonzalez to come yet. If not? Well, let’s see how this game goes and then we can assess the Galaxy at this point in the weirdest season in history.

Odds:

According to DraftKings Sportsbook, as of Sunday evening, LA are (+235) while Portland are (-103). The odds of a draw are (+280), so the bookmakers think the Timbers are comfortable favorites heading in. Looks like the Galaxy still have some haters to shush.

How to Watch:

Wednesday’s match between LA and the Timbers will be televised locally on Spectrum Sportsnet, and in the rest of the United States on ESPN+. The broadcast is scheduled to start at 7:30 pm PT with kickoff to follow.
