The LA Galaxy’s quest to keep supremacy in El Trafico may have been dealt a blow pregame, as Kevin Baxter of the LA Times reported prior to the lineups being released for Saturday’s game that forward Chicharito will be out for the match due to injury.
The @LAGalaxy will be without Chicharito in tonight’s El Trafico with @LAFC He strained a calf in training Thursday. @CH14_

This would have been Chicharito’s first El Trafico against LAFC, but while the player participated in media availability Thursday ahead of the game, Baxter reports the injury, a calf ailment, came during training Thursday.
The report confirms whispers earlier Saturday that Chicharito would be unavailable for the game, originally reported by TUDN, who said the player’s inclusion was a game time decision.
So, without the Mexican star up top, the Galaxy will do some shifting in their lineup, with Cristian Pavon now asked to play an even bigger role to carry the team in the big rivalry clash.
LA will play LAFC Saturday on ESPN, with kickoff coming shortly after 7:30 pm PT.
