LA Galaxy Montreal Impact match preview: What to watch, projected starting XI and TV schedule

MLS: Los Angeles Galaxy at Montreal Impact Eric Bolte-USA TODAY Sports

vExciting times lie ahead as the LA Galaxy lick their chops in anticipation of this weekend’s matchup. Saturday’s battle vs. the Montreal Impact (7:30 PT, Spectrum SportsNet) is about more than a result for Guillermo Barros Schelotto’s squad, even though LA can potentially move up to third place in the West with a victory.

What to watch

Two goals. Before the LA teams kick off this weekend, that is the gap between Zlatan Ibrahimovic and runaway MVP candidate and league darling Carlos Vela. Normally this would serve as a distraction but the Galaxy need all three points and others are becoming increasingly comfortable sharing the scoring load. The collective attack should thrive on Saturday. (We’re betting Ibra gets his chances)

If Zlatan can find a way to score in the first half, there’s an excellent chance Ibra inches to within a goal of the Golden Boot leader by the night’s end.

Looks like the Impact left their attack in Montreal.

Lineup changes? Other than Julian Araujo filling in for Rolf Feltscher, expect the same starting lineup while Favio Alvarez continues to recover.
