Zlatan Ibrahimovic wins MLS Week 28 PotW honors

Week 28 belonged to Zlatan

MLS: Sporting Kansas City at LA Galaxy Kelvin Kuo-USA TODAY Sports

Stop me if you’re heard this before.

The LA Galaxy’s Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been named MLS Player of the Week once again after the striker’s hat track propelled the blue white and gold to a satisfying 7-2 blowout over Sporting Kansas City.

Now with 26 goals this 2019 season, Ibrahimovic is within striking range of Carlos Vela for the covered Golden Boot award, and don’t think for a second Zlatan isn’t going to spend all week thinking about snatching that honor away from the prolific Mexican international.

Next up for Guillermo Barros Schelotto’s squad? A favorable home date vs. a Montreal Impact squad in disarray since manager Remi Garde was dismissed and quickly replaced with Wilmer Cabrera. The Impact just lost at home to FC Cincinnati in a match that puts a giant dent in their fading postseason hopes.

If LA can get going early and Zlatan starts banging in the goals...watch out.
