It’s hard to gauge just how good this LA Galaxy team is.
Saturday’s comfortable victory at FC Cincinnati was LA’s third straight win on the road and yet Guillermo Barros Schelotto’s group has blown winnable home games vs. the Revs and Rapids, though admittedly the form of both clubs has skyrocketed.
The blue white and gold are one of the league’s scariest attacks, and yet we’re halfway through the year and it remains a challenge defining the Galaxy attack, with an over reliance on Zlatan Ibrahimovic and an abundance of half-chances usually summarizing the proceedings.
It seems the Power Rankings politburo is just as perplexed as we are, unable to define LA’s form beyond “pretty good”. We’re in agreement.
We can’t draw any lasting conclusions about the Schelotto era in LA until the season is winding down, but it’s safe to say at this point the feeling they’re pretty good but could be better will persist for the duration. Of course, the current staff and front office could use a few transfer windows before sweeping statements are made.
