This morning the MLS Players Union released the salary guide for the 2019 season, which contains all the relevant information for league players under contract. It’s also a useful tool for understanding the degree to which a club is succesfully allocating their resources.
As expected, Zlatan is the highest paid player in the league with an annual salary of $7,2000,000. Diego Polenta and Giancarlo Gonzalez, two center backs who signed TAM deals to come to LA, are making $687,276 and $650,000 respectively.
Though it seems Dennis te Kloese has done a commendable job cleaning up the bad deals, there are still a few bloated contacts haunting the roster: Jorgen Skjelvik and Perry Kitchen earn just shy of a million and a half combined.
