Weeks after Romain Alessandrini was ruled out until September, the club have managed to add an attacking reinforcement ahead of the May 7th transfer deadline.
The LA Galaxy have officially announced the signing of 26-year old Favio Alvarez. The midfielder who can also operate as a forward joins the club from Argentine club Atlético Tucumán, who are currently 5th in the first-division just behind River and Boca. Alvarez was acquired using TAM funds.
“Favio is a talented and dynamic attacking player who will be a valuable addition to our roster,” Galaxy GM Dennis te Kloese echoed in a statement. “He has a versatile skillset that will allow him to play multiple positions in our attack. We think he can be a dangerous option for our club this season and we look forward to adding him to the team.”
With Alvarez’s paperwork still pending, the Argentine is likely to debut this weekend vs. NYCFC or a later date.
