Guillermo Barros Schelotto’s right back depth is about to take a major hit.

According to Fox Soccer’s Keith Costigan, LA Galaxy academy graduate Julian Araujo has boarded a plane heading to Poland and will participate in the FIFA U-20 World Cup. (It is believed Aruajo is a replacement for Toronto FC youngster Ayo Akinola) The talented squad coached by Tab Ramos open group play on Friday vs. Ukraine.

A highly regarded defender, the dual national who can represent the USA and Mexico has attracted plenty of attention south of the border, and there were whispers El Tri might attempt to target the 17-year old so it’s a relief for American soccer fans Araujo is heading to Poland.

Additionally Rolf Feltscher has been named to Venezuela’s preliminary roster for the 2019 edition of the Copa America. Should the 28-year old manage to earn a spot the Galaxy would be without their top right backs for a spell, though Feltscher is expected to be available the next few matches.
