Four LA Galaxy players named to Concacaf Gold Cup preliminary rosters

Four vital members of the LA Galaxy will be leaving soon to participate in the Gold Cup.

This morning CONCACAF released the 40-man preliminary rosters ahead of this summer’s regional tournament, and Gregg Berhalter has called up midfielder Sebastian Lletget while center back Giancarlo Gonzalez has been named to the Costa Rican roster. Last week the Mexican Football Federation announced Jonathan dos Santos and Uriel Antuna were named to El Tri’s squad.

Unfortunately the call ups couldn’t have come at a worse time. The Galaxy are currently without Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Romain Alessandrini, four more players are taking off soon and left back Diedie Traore is also injured. If LA aren’t suffering a personnel crisis, they’re on the cusp.

As of now it is unclear when the players will be joining with their national teams, but it is likely Friday’s road match at Orlando City is Guillermo Barros Schelotto’s last opportunity to work with a complete team.
