LA Galaxy fall to Colorado Rapids 1-0

Where did the attack go?

MLS: Colorado Rapids at LA Galaxy Kelvin Kuo-USA TODAY Sports

On a cloudy Sunday afternoon at Dignity Health Sports Park, the LA Galaxy had nothing to offer to the supporters, meekly falling to the Rapids in an offensive deprived match.

With Zlatan Ibrahimovic out the first of two matches due to violent conduct, LA had plenty of possession the first half but struggled mightily in the final third. Favio Alvarez demonstrated his technical ability, but it was the Rapids who ended the half in control of the match.

Uriel Antuna and Rolf Feltscher had early chances in the second half but the Galaxy were anemic in attack, loading up cross after cross to no avail. On the flip side the Rapids were increasingly dangerous in attack both in possession and on the counter-attack. Despite several point-blank saves from David BIngham and an off-the-line clearance from Giancarlo Gonzalez, Andre Shinyashiki calmly slotted a loose ball in the box to the Rapids a lead they would not relinquish.
