Slow but steady progress has defined the 2019 LA Galaxy season.
Taking away the outlier that was the injury-plagued two-goal defeat at FC Dallas, Guillermo Barros Schelotto’s squad began the year with three straight one-goal victories over the Chicago Fire, Minnesota United and Portland Timbers. LA have gone on to win their last pair of matches by two-goal margins, successfully navigating a tricky fixture in Vancouver before breezing past the Philadelphia Union.

Winning four straight matches is an impressive feat, but there is a genuine belief this group isn’t even close to firing on all cylinders. Zlatan for one was not happy after the match.
That being said, he did have a first-half brace, towering over Auston Trusty to bang home the opener before drawing a penalty that would seal the match. Jorgen Skjelvic also had a top performance, buoyed by his floating cross to the far post.
For their efforts both earned Team of the Week honors.
