Have the LA Galaxy found a diamond in the rough?
In Diedie Traore, the club definitely have themselves a gem. The French born defender impressed the coaching staff enough during open tryouts to win a contract, then progressed through the academy and starred for Los Dos before signing a first team deal this morning, all in the span of 15 months.
“Diedie joined the LA Galaxy organization after being identified at an LA Galaxy II Open Tryout. He progressed quickly through the LA Galaxy Academy and Galaxy II, demonstrating his quality and commitment,” Dennis te Kloese echoed in a statement. “We have enjoyed witnessing Diedie’s development within our club and look forward to helping him further grow his talent.”
From tryout to triumph.

Bringing up Traore wasn’t cheap: LA had to send $175,000 in combined TAM and GAM to the Crew in exchange for a precious international slot, so clearly Guillermo Barros Schelotto and company have faith in the 20-year old’s ability to contribute this season.
