There was plenty of anticipation in the buildup to Tuesday’s training session regarding the injury status of LA’s two Designated Players.
Would Zlatan Ibrahimović return from a mystery Achilles setback that has kept the big Swede off the field for three weeks? There’s been little news about Romain Alessandrini as well after the Frenchman limped off the field in the 20th minute of opening night with a hamstring tweak.
Fortunately for Guillermo Barros Schelotto and the LA Galaxy coaching staff, Ibra and Romain have returned to full training, under the watchful eye of trainer Javier Valdecantos of course.
The leader of the pack is back.

It is encouraging to see Zlatan back in action: The Achilles is a particularly nasty injury setback and information on his status with the exception of a vague timetable was virtually non-existent. Same with Alessandrini, who will have to carefully monitor his hamstring to avoid aggravating the injury.
We’ll keep you updated with their status and potential availability this weekend.
