How long will Zlatan Ibrahimovic be out?

The big Swede has not been training

Could the LA Galaxy’s big-money signing potentially be sidelined for an extended period of time?

Kevin Baxter at the LA Times was one of several outlets to report Zlatan Ibrahimovic was curiously absent from today’s training session, noting the big Swede did not practice last week before failing to making the trip to Texas and missing out on Saturday’s two-goal defeat to FC Dallas with an Achilles issue. (The club has remained tight-lipped on the situation)

Well, there’s no point in discussing whether LA should have held onto Ola Kamara, the Norwegian international who bagged 14 goals last season but was recently transferred to the Chinese Super League. The move is done, and besides, we wrote about that months ago.

With the departure of Kamara, the roster does not have a reliable second option at the striker spot, never mind a proven goalscorer. Recent Los Dos graduate Ethan Zubak is raw, Chris Pontius is out of position and Efrain Alvarez, talented as he may be, isn’t ready to start matches.

All things considered, it wouldn’t be a surprise if Dennis te Kloese and company were focusing on acquiring a striker.
