David Beckham isn’t the only LA Galaxy player celebrating a statue unveiling this year.

With the Audi 2019 MLS Cup playoffs two weeks away, now is the opportune time for Zlatan Ibrahimovic to take a few days off. The big Swede is set to be honored tomorrow in his hometown of Malmo with a bronze statue unveiling outside Friends Arena. Of course, Malmo is where Ibra began playing professional football as a teenager before going on to have a legendary career starring for the likes of Barcelona, Inter Milan and Paris St. Germain.

“You usually get this after you die, but I still feel alive” said Zlatan at the time of the announcement. The statue is a gift to Ibra from the Swedish Football Association, who also awarded Zlatan with his 10th consecutive Golden Ball Award.

Here’s hoping Ibrahimovic returns to LA more inspired than usual to bang in the goals come Oct. 20th.
