Zlatan Ibrahimovic named to 2019 MLS Best XI

MLS: MLS Cup Conference Semifinals-LA Galaxy at Los Angeles FC Kelvin Kuo-USA TODAY Sports

30 goals and seven assists in 29 matches with plenty of entertainment and controversy along the way.

The LA Galaxy’s Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been named to the 2019 edition of the MLS Best XI after another stellar season of production for the blue white and gold. Time will tell whether Ibrahimovic returns for one more year, but it’s been a heck of a ride. (Much like the Galaxy season)

With a number of standout stars across the league, selecting a Best XI from the MLS season is a task that grows more difficult with each passing season.

Voters are given flexibility with formation and this year’s Best XI leans attacking with some of the league’s brightest stars assembled to a 3-4-3. The front three alone combined for 91 goals and 26 assists. LAFC leads the way with three honorees, after setting a new league record for points and goal difference en route to picking up the Supporters’ Shield.
