One positive piece of news emerged following yesterday’s disastrous home draw vs. the Colorado Rapids.

Many feared the worst when Romain Alessandrini was subbed off in the 27th minute of Saturday’s 2-2 tie with an undisclosed right leg injury, but an MRI revealed no structural damage. Alessandrini is expected to be out 1-2 weeks.

On the other hand, Giovani dos Santos will be unavailable a bit longer.

“[Romain] is fine structurally, it’s just a little bruise in there that they have to take care of, so we need time for him to get back, I don’t know exactly what the timeline is,” the Galaxy boss said. “ [Giovani] has a strain. Grade 2 strain. It’s going to take a little bit of a while to get back.

“I think Gio is [out] two to four weeks and I think Romain is a week to two weeks.”

However, Schmid said the team did not know the extent of Jonathan dos Santos’ groin issue immediately following the game. Dos Santos exited the game with an apparent groin issue in the first half, forcing Schmid to insert Servando Carrasco.
