Zlatan Ibrahimovic and David Beckham bet on Sweden-England

Who knew Ibra really digs IKEA?

Professional athletes are obviously competitive. Now imagine being a former international star watching your country successfully advance in the Russia 2018 World Cup.

You’re going to be dying to get in on the action. And what better to participate in a game you can’t play in by making a friendly wager? With that in mind, it makes perfect sense Zlatan Ibrahimovic and David Beckham would place a silly bet on tomorrow’s England-Sweden quarterfinal matchup.

Long story short: If Sweden wins, the former LA Galaxy legend buys Ibra furniture. If England wins, Zlatan travels to England and buy Becks dinner on the house.

Never one to be out-staged, Beckham fired back with his own terms.

C’mon, this is great. IKEA? Fish and chips?!? Here you have arguably two of the most interesting cultured athletes on the planet making a bet that couldn’t have been more stereotypical if they tried.

Just one condition: If England wins, Ibra must wait until the off-season to make good on the wager.

Update: England won 2-0, advancing to the World Cup semifinal vs. Croatia.
