LA Galaxy fans haven’t seen much of the No. 2 SuperDraft pick in 2018. After putting away multiple headers during preseason, the no-nonsense defender was instrumental in helping the Galaxy back line earn a clean sheet in his only start, however the 22-year old has yet to see more playing time under Sigi Schmid.
Which led us to wondering (since we can’t watch him play), which The Office character does Tomas Hilliard-Arce represent?
Jim Halpert, sales: Calm, cool and collected, Tomas-Hilliard Arce is a positive presence and a natural leader in the locker room, just like a certain representative at Dunder-Mifflin.
Tomas is also loyal to his co-workers: The defender racked up 10 clearances, 4 interceptions, 5 aerial duels won and a tackle during his only start as LA blanked the Whitecaps on the road.
Andy Bernard, sales: Like Tomas, Andy went to an elite university in Cornell. Both are talented go-getters looking to get ahead: Hilliard-Arce led Stanford to three NCAA titles while Andy sang in the a capella group “Here Comes Treble”.
Dwight Schrute, assistant (to the) regional manager: Dwight is all about authority. So is THA, who was known for enforcing an alcohol and caffeine ban during the college season. Just watch this 1 v 1 with Bobby Warshaw and tell me the center back isn’t channeling Michael Scott’s right-hand man.
“No matter who is on my team, I will not let them get away with slacking off”
“I absolutely hate losing”
Like The Office, it would be nice to watch Tomas Hilliard-Arce live again. Preferably sooner rather than later.
