Los Dos demolished Saint Louis FC 6-3 at the StubHub Center Track and Field Stadium in a game that resembled a Eredivisie match: Casual defending and buckets of goals.
The story of the rout (In addition to Ethan Zubak, who netted a hat trick of his own) was young Efrain Ramirez. It was less than a week ago when the highly touted El Tri prospect opened his LA Galaxy II account with a superb strike from distance, and last night the 15-year old was at it again.
In the 18th minute Alvarez executes a give and go with John Requero resulting in an easy finish, then right after halftime the academy product had another moment of brilliance, dancing around a defender before entering the box and placing a low finish past the outstretched keeper’s hands. Late in the match Efrain took advantage of a poor turnover and quickly lashed a laser outside the area that kissed off the right post and in to complete the hat-trick.
The defending from Saint Louis was lax to say the least, but a hat trick’s a hat trick. All aboard the Efrain Alvarez hype train.
