Zlatan’s debut season in Major League Soccer brought us countless memories, but none carry more weight than the Shot Heard Around the World, which has now been voted the AT&T 2018 MLS Goal of the Year by the fans.
Down a pair of goals to LAFC in the first-ever El Trafico, Ibrahimovic made his LA Galaxy debut, entering the match in the 71st minute. After Chris Pontius’ header narrowed the score to 3-2, the Swedish target striker needed just one chance.
Moments later off a Tyler Miller restart Daniel Steres sent a powerful header across the midfield stripe, and when Ola Kamara prevented Dejan Jaković from challenging the first bounce (a big no-no), Ibra had his chance.
He took it.
Was it ever in doubt?!

The 2018 @ATT Goal of the Year belongs to @Ibra_official. pic.twitter.com/84QMLnihRb
The goal went mega viral, and LA’s subsequently miraculous comeback vs. LAFC was the talk of the league for weeks. (It must be said Zlatan’s 500th goal wasn’t bad either)
