With massive victories over two Cascadia foes in the Seattle Sounders and the Vancouver Whitecaps (Including consecutive clean sheets!), the LA Galaxy jumped three spots in this week’s Power Rankings as Dom Kinnear’s newly-charged side have stubbornly pushed themselves back into contention for a 2018 postseason berth.
An update on the Galaxy playoff picture
Yes, Dom Kinnear’s men still have lots of work ahead. Taking all three points at Children’s Mercy Park vs. Sporting KC won’t be easy, but a road win would go a long way towards putting LA in the driver’s seat.

Zlatan is coming up the standings like the shark in “Jaws.” LA are still out of the playoff places, but somewhat similar to D.C., their momentum makes it seem like they can seal this and reach the postseason. Of course, the biggest test yet is up: a road game at Sporting KC.
Also noteworthy: For the first time in 2018, the New York Red Bulls have captured the No. 1 ranking, toppling Atlanta United in the process.
