With Zlatan Ibrahimovic being released by Manchester United yesterday after just one season in England, the Swedish superstar looks to be on his way to the Galaxy.
The deal, according to MARCA, a Spanish newspaper, says that the two sides reached an agreement in March. However, Ibrahimovic would have only been able to join the MLS club after being released, which he was.
In one season with Manchester United, the 35-year-old was prolific in front of goal, scoring 28 times in 41 appearances across all competitions. He was a big reason as to why Jose Mourinho’s squad won the Europa League this season.
It is unlikely, though, that he will play this season at the StubHub Center? Why? Well, he is currently recovering from ligament damage which was sustained late in the English Premier League Season.
Once he is healthy, and the reports are true, the Galaxy will have one of the most formidable strikers in the entire league, even at the age of 36.
Update: Was the rumor too good to be true?
Club source tells me report that Zlatan is headed to #lagalaxy is "inaccurate" and that at present, Ibra isn't a player they're pursuing.
