The LA Galaxy play the first of four matches on the road starting tomorrow afternoon. They will take on the New York Red Bulls at Red Bull Arena.
We have three things for you to watch out for throughout the course of tomorrow and these stretch of games.
The Manager
Despite coming back and earning a point against the Chicago Fire last time out, manager Curt Onalfo is still firmly on the hot seat.
If the Galaxy come away with two points from the four matches, that could be deemed as successful, but it would hinder their chances of making a run to the playoffs.
Curt Onalfo would probably need to win 6-8/12 points in order to keep his job throughout the summer
The Captain
Let’s see how Jelle Van Damme responds against NYRB tomorrow afternoon. How will he react to being benched 30 minutes into his previous start? Will he react like a captain is supposed to?
My guess is that he will step up his performance and be invigorated. He’ll be more tactically disciplined, but will still be a threat when the moment calls for it.
Van Damme is the captain of this squad for a reason, and he will live up to that title on Sunday.
The Attack
While you hate to see this side get any more injuries, the attack without Jermaine Jones on the pitch looked somewhat promising.
The front four of Gyasi Zardes, Emmanuel Boateng, Romain Alessandrini, and Giovani dos Santos were tactically sound. They stuck to their roles, stretched the play out wide, and wore down the Chicago Fire defense.
These four had a couple of opportunities to get that third goal, but the confidence is brewing and it could be the start of something special.
