USWNT to play Japan Aug. 3rd at the StubHub Center

Good news! More football is coming to the StubHub Center this summer, and I’m not talking about the Chargers.

The U.S. Women’s National Team have announced they will be participating in the Tournament of Nations, a round-robin tournament featuring Australia, Brazil and Japan. Consisting of three doubleheaders, the finale will take place August 3rd at the home of the LA Galaxy, as the USA take on Japan while Australia plays Brazil.

“It’s fantastic to play another tournament at home against some of the world’s best teams in a year after the world championship cycle, and it shows U.S. Soccer’s continuing dedication to growing the women’s game,” U.S. WNT head coach Jill Ellis said. “These are three talented teams that we haven’t played in a while so we’re looking forward to a summer tournament that will be extremely challenging and valuable for our players and entertaining for the fans.”
