There is finally some good news on the injury front for the LA Galaxy ahead of Saturday night’s match against the Vancouver Whitecaps.

Ashley Cole, who has yet to appear in a match this season because of a calf injury, is ready to slot back into the left back position after missing the first three matches. During his absence, Dave Romney and Nathan Smith filled in for the former England international.

Cole told the Galaxy Insider, “I’m fit, and I look forward getting back in the team and just trying to win this game because it’s going to be a difficult one.”

Thankfully, the left side of the defense hasn’t been a black hole in Cole’s absence. Romney and Smith both played well, but the 36-year-old has much more mobility compared to the other two and can defend and attack with more ferocity.

It will certainly be great to have the veteran back in his rightful spot next to Jelle Van Damme.
