A miserable 2017 campaign for the Galaxy ended in failure Sunday, as a hungry FC Dallas fighting for a playoff spot decimated LA 5-1 at Toyota Stadium.

The Galaxy couldn’t have gotten off to a better start when Romain Alessandrini curved a corner kick into the area and Michael Ciani got free centrally to put away a header two minutes into the match with relative ease.

After a bright opening, LA were unable to maintain the momentum and eventually FC Dallas nabbed a pair of goals right before halftime: Ronald Lamah smashed a close-range shot home in the 37th minute, then four minutes later Matt Hedges ghosted into the box to redirect a poor Clement Diop rebound into the net.
The match was over early in the second half when Ronald Lamah popped up at the near post and turned a Mauro Diaz corner kick around a flat-footed Diop, then the rout was on as Michael Barrios got loose on the breakaway and roofed a shot over Diop to give FCD a 4-1 lead.
Minutes later Diop was forced to take down Kellyn Acosta and was instantly given a red card before Mauro Diaz’s well-placed PK compounded LA’s misery.
